Abstract

Drug abuse is a social, health, and legal problem that can threaten the quality of human resources, especially students and the younger generation. This problem requires a preventive approach through increasing knowledge, legal awareness, developing positive attitudes, and community participation. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to increase participants' understanding of the dangers of drug abuse, its legal consequences, prevention strategies, and the role of the community in creating a safe environment. The activity was carried out at the Daarul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School, Parage Village, Cikulur District, Lebak Regency, Banten, with participants consisting of students and the Islamic boarding school community. The activity method used a participatory community education approach through legal counseling, material delivery, interactive discussions, questions and answers, evaluation, and documentation. The material covered the definition of narcotics, the impact of abuse on health and social life, legal provisions, criminal liability, prevention efforts, and the roles of families, educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools, and the community. The results of the activity showed good participant engagement through participation in discussions and questions related to the risks of drugs and their legal consequences. This activity strengthened participants' understanding, legal awareness, and preventive attitudes. Islamic boarding school-based legal counseling has the potential to be a prevention strategy that needs to be continued through regular education and inter-institutional collaboration.
